Russian President Vladimir Putin sent warm greetings to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on India’s 77th Republic Day. He praised India’s achievements in social, economic, scientific, and technical fields, saying the country “rightfully occupies its place among the leading world powers” and commands high respect internationally.

Recalling his December 2025 visit to India, Putin noted that discussions with Indian leaders reaffirmed the growth of the special and privileged strategic partnership between Moscow and New Delhi. He expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to strengthen across all sectors and that both countries would work together on regional and global issues, supporting a fair multipolar world order.

In December, PM Modi met Putin at Hyderabad House, where they discussed boosting ties in economy, defence, and trade. Modi highlighted the enduring strength of India-Russia relations, thanking Putin for his consistent friendship and commitment. He recalled milestones in their partnership, including the establishment of the strategic partnership 25 years ago and its elevation to a Special Privileged Strategic Partnership in 2010.

Putin concluded his message wishing good health and happiness to the people of India. Both leaders emphasized that their nations’ long-standing relationship remains a model of cooperation, guided by mutual respect, shared interests, and a vision for global stability and development.

The greetings come as India continues to strengthen its international presence, with Russia recognizing its role as a leading power on the global stage and reaffirming the importance of strategic collaboration between the two countries.
