Police Issue Guidelines for New Year Celebrations

Ramanagara
Ramanagara police have announced a set of rules and regulations to be followed during New Year celebrations to maintain public safety and law and order. Addressing the media, Rajendra said that while citizens are free to celebrate the New Year, celebrations must remain within the framework of the law and should not cause inconvenience or danger to others.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police stated that strict action will be taken against drunken driving, reckless riding, and overspeeding. Police teams will conduct intensive vehicle checks across the district, especially during night hours, to prevent accidents and ensure road safety. He warned that those found driving under the influence of alcohol would face immediate legal action, including fines, licence suspension, and vehicle seizure as per rules.

ASP Rajendra also said that loud music, DJ parties, and public celebrations beyond permissible limits would not be allowed. Organisers of New Year events must obtain prior permission from the police and adhere to the prescribed time limits and noise regulations. Use of narcotic substances, dangerous stunts, and public nuisance will be dealt with strictly.

To prevent untoward incidents, additional police personnel will be deployed at sensitive locations, public gathering spots, highways, and tourist areas. Surveillance and patrolling will be intensified throughout the district on New Year’s Eve. He added that police will closely monitor anti-social activities and take preventive measures wherever required.

The police urged parents to advise youngsters against risky behaviour and appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies. Celebration should not turn into tragedy. Safety of citizens is our top priority, ASP Rajendra said.

He concluded by wishing citizens a happy and safe New Year and appealed to everyone to celebrate responsibly, respect the law, and contribute to maintaining peace and harmony in Ramanagar district.
