BENGALURU
Bengaluru saw a heartwarming gesture on Sunday as the local humanitarian group, Humanity Is Religion, carried out a large blanket distribution drive. Over 1,000 blankets were handed out to homeless people and those living on the streets, bringing much-needed warmth during the chilly winter nights.
The initiative was led by Suroj Ali, Chandru, A Nayaka, Kalaskruthi, and a committed team of friends and volunteers. They visited footpaths, bus stops, flyovers, and other public areas, giving blankets personally with care and respect. Special attention was given to children, elderly people, and persons with disabilities, who are more vulnerable to cold weather.
SR Nagar Police Inspector Ravi Kiran praised the volunteers for their dedication and support. The organizers emphasized that their actions reflect the group’s belief that humanity is the greatest religion, and that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in people’s lives.
The drive was possible thanks to generous donations and tireless volunteer efforts. Humanity Is Religion encouraged citizens to take part in social causes and support projects that bring comfort, dignity, and hope to those living in difficult conditions. The event highlighted how compassion and community action can create positive change in the city.
