Cricket South Africa has called up wicketkeeper batter Rubin Hermann for the rest of the ODI series against Pakistan, after young star Dewald Brevis hurt his shoulder while fielding during the third T20I in Lahore. Brevis will not return to play in the ODIs now, but he will continue to stay with the touring group to get ready for the two Test matches against India, which start on November 14. Hermann was already in India, because he was playing for the South Africa A side, which is currently involved in two unofficial Tests against India A. He also scored a half century in the first match in Bengaluru, though the home side won that match by three wickets. Hermann is 28. He has played six T20Is for South Africa. But this call up gives him his first chance to make his debut in One Day Internationals.
