Priyanka Slams NDA

Begusarai

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday accused the NDA governments at the Centre and in Bihar of indulging in divisive politics and promoting “fake nationalism” to win elections.

Addressing her first poll rally in Begusarai for the ongoing Bihar assembly elections, Priyanka alleged that the so-called “double-engine government” was merely a myth, as “everything in Bihar is being controlled from Delhi.”

She criticised the BJP over the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state, claiming that deleting names from voter lists amounts to a violation of citizens’ rights. “They first divided people, went to war, but couldn’t divert attention from real issues, so now they are stealing votes,” she alleged.

The Congress leader further accused the BJP of ignoring core issues such as unemployment and migration while instead resorting to personal attacks on past leaders. “They criticise Nehru ji and Indira ji, but fail to address the problems faced by the youth,” she said.

Highlighting Bihar’s role in India’s progress, Priyanka said the state had not received the development it deserved under NDA rule. “Bihar contributed greatly to the country’s growth, yet its people are denied opportunities. Don’t get fooled by the government’s tall promises,” she told the gathering.

She also accused the Modi government of favouring corporates through rampant privatisation. “The Prime Minister handed over big public sector units to his corporate friends,” Priyanka alleged, urging voters to “save democracy and stand united against divisive politics.”
