NDA leaders criticised Mahagathbandhan’s pre-poll promises, calling them unrealistic and warning against Bihar’s return to jungle raj.
New Delhi
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Mahagathbandhan over its pre-poll promises for the people of Bihar, dismissing them as baseless and financially unviable. They also cautioned voters against allowing the state to fall back into the jungle raj era of lawlessness.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan strongly criticised the Opposition’s pledges, questioning their economic practicality. These promises are baseless. Anyone can make announcements. The question is, how will they fulfil these promises? How will they provide government jobs to every member of a Bihar household? Do we have that budget? Paswan asked while addressing reporters.
He further argued that the Opposition lacked a coherent economic plan. Promises do not matter until there is revenue generation. How does the Leader of Opposition plan to achieve that? he said. Paswan also accused the Opposition of copying welfare schemes introduced by the NDA government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, citing the example of the successful JEEViKA programme.
Reaffirming the NDA’s commitment to inclusive growth, Paswan said the alliance remains guided by the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya ridiculed the Opposition’s leadership ambitions, remarking that people often daydream about becoming Prime Minister or Chief Minister, but reality remains unchanged.
Maurya asserted that Bihar’s citizens would not allow a return to chaos under Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav. The people of Bihar will not hand over the state to Tejashwi Yadav and let it burn again in the fire of jungle raj, he warned, adding that the NDA is poised to repeat its electoral success from 2010 through 2025 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
