Defeat and victory are common in life. We have lost in the Hukkeri Rural Electricity Cooperative Society. However, this should not be considered a setback. This election has gained more importance because I was the district in-charge Minister. Even though we lost in the election, we have developed a connection with the people at the grassroots level. The future will be good there, said District In-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi.
Speaking to the media, he said, seven to eight thousand votes have been spoiled according to the category. The cooperative arena is new to us. Still, we have put in a lot of effort. We had got 12 thousand votes. They got 20 thousand. Our workers and candidates should have been more active in the elections. We were not able to convince the voters.
It is false that the Jarakiholi brothers are anti-Lingayats. This is an election limited to the taluk. It is not related to the district or the state. The opponents have succeeded only in Hukkeri. It does not apply to other taluks, he said.
Ramesh Katti has made a very personal insult to our family. He should speak according to his dignity and personality. His entire family is in politics. He should not say anything just because he has a mouth, he added.
Responding to Ramesh Katti’s statement that he would enter Gokak and Arabhavi constituencies, the minister said. Ramesh Katti is a dead horse. His politics and ideas are confined to the taluk. Anyone can enter anywhere they want.
Responding to the question whether the results of the Hukkeri DCC Bank election would have an impact, he said, if it were a general election, one would have thought so, Jarkiholi said.
