Sports Awards applications open: Ministry of Youth Affairs

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) has announced that applications are open for the 2025 Sports Awards, with notifications available on their official website, www.yas.nic.in, as per a press release. These awards are presented annually to honour excellence and contribution in sports.

The Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award recognises the most outstanding performance by a sportsperson in a year. The Arjuna Award honours consistent exceptional performance, while the Arjuna Award (Lifetime) recognises lifetime contributions to the development of sports. The Dronacharya Award is awarded to coaches who have trained athletes to win medals at major international events. Additionally, the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar (RKPP) is given to corporate entities or NGOs that have significantly promoted and developed sports in India.

Eligible sportspersons, coaches, and organisations can apply online through the dedicated portal at www.dbtyas-sports.gov.in. Applicants must ensure they meet the award guidelines and submit their forms by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, 28th October 2025.
