Pink Power Run 2.0 raises cancer awareness

Hyderabad

Hyderabad hosted the Pink Power Run 2.0 on Sunday at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, near Hussain Sagar Lake. Organised by the Sudha Reddy Foundation in association with the MEIL Foundation, the event aimed to promote fitness and spread awareness about breast cancer. Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri flagged off the run, attended by dignitaries and celebrities.

Sudha Reddy, event organiser, said, “This run is to promote fitness and raise awareness against breast cancer. Almost 18-20 thousand people have participated in this.” The marathon began at 5:30 a.m. and featured 10K, 5K, and 3K categories, attracting participants of all ages under the tagline “Stride and Shine.”

Chuangsri urged people to join the cause, saying, “We are inviting everyone worldwide to come together, run for fitness and health, and create a social movement against breast cancer.” She also shared plans to attend a dinner with children with visual disabilities and HIV in Hyderabad, calling it an opportunity to spread joy and offer support.

In August, the Sudha Reddy Foundation and MEIL Foundation announced Pink Power Run 2.0 as Hyderabad’s flagship effort to boost awareness, early detection, and community support for breast cancer. Sudha Reddy said, “Breast cancer is claiming too many lives in India. Awareness, early detection, and access can change this. The Pink Power Run is about uniting people, saving lives, and making Hyderabad a beacon of hope for women.”

The event saw strong community participation, making it a meaningful step in the fight against breast cancer.
