Dulquer Salmaan approaches Kerala HC over seized vehicle

Kochi

Actor Dulquer Salmaan, son of superstar Mammootty, on Friday approached the Kerala High Court seeking the release of his luxury vehicles seized earlier this week during ‘Operation Numkhoor’ by the Customs Department. In his petition, he challenged the legality of the seizure and requested the vehicle be returned immediately.

The petition stated that one of Salmaan’s four vehicles—two Land Rovers and two Nissan models—was taken into custody. He submitted all necessary ownership documents, including payment receipts, and argued that the seizure lacked justification. Salmaan emphasised that the cars were purchased legally with cash and all records were available for verification.

He further alleged that Customs officials were ignoring his submissions and not granting a fair hearing. Salmaan also clarified that media reports linking the case to alleged anti-national activities were false and harmful to his reputation.

The actor requested cancellation of the seizure memo, asserting no legal violations had occurred. Observers note that the case could set an important precedent regarding the seizure of high-value personal property by enforcement agencies in India.
