TV actress Deepika Singh has spoken out in support of women embracing remarriage and starting fresh. Currently seen as Mangal in the show Mangal Lakshmi, Deepika shared how her character inspires her and others to take control of their own happiness.
Speaking to IANS, the Diya Aur Baati Hum star said, “Just like Mangal, I’m a mother, a wife, and someone juggling career and family. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.” Deepika praised her on-screen role for showing strength and hope after a broken marriage.
In the show’s latest storyline, Mangal moves on from her painful past with Adit (played by Naman Shaw) and begins a new chapter with Kapil (Kapil Nirmal). Deepika said, “Mangal chooses to move forward and stay strong for her children. She doesn’t let her past hold her back. I want every woman to know it’s okay to follow your heart.”
Mangal Lakshmi is based on the Kannada series Bhagyalakshmi and airs on Colors TV, Monday to Friday. It also features Sanika Amit and Shubham Dipta, and is directed by Faheim Ahmad.
Through her role, Deepika hopes to inspire women to start again—without guilt.
