In the 2025 edition of Stanford University’s renowned global ranking of scientists, which lists the top 2% researchers worldwide, several Indian academics have been recognized for their remarkable contributions. Leading the list is Prof. B.C. Prasannakumar, Head of the Mathematics Department at Davangere University. Alongside him, four assistant professors have earned recognition: Dr. Puneeth Goud R.J. from Bapuji Institute College, Dr. Naveen Kumar R. from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham College, Dr. Madhukesh J.K. from JMIT College, and Dr. Varun Kumar R.S. from Sunway University, Malaysia. This year, their global rankings are 11,379; 44,028; 54,518; 121,882; and 124,671, respectively.
Stanford University evaluates scientists using global research metrics, including H-index, i10-index, and citation records, to identify consistent and high-impact contributions. Prof. Prasannakumar has featured on the list continuously for five years (2021–25), while Dr. Puneeth Goud and Dr. Naveen Kumar have been recognized for four consecutive years (2022–25). Dr. Madhukesh and Dr. Varun Kumar have earned their place for three consecutive years (2023–25). It is particularly encouraging that the four assistant professors, who carried out their research under Prof. Prasannakumar’s mentorship, have also been recognized at the international level. The academic institutions and their administrations have extended heartfelt congratulations to the scholars. Vice-Chancellors, Principals, and department heads of Davangere University, Bapuji Institute, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, JMIT College, and Sunway University praised their dedication and achievements. This recognition not only highlights individual excellence but also reflects the growing global presence and impact of Indian researchers in the fields of mathematics and science. Their achievements serve as an inspiration for aspiring scientists across India and abroad, emphasizing the importance of mentorship, consistent research, and scholarly contribution to the global scientific community.
