Ministers’ Panel to Engage Bengaluru Industry on Infrastructure, Growth

The Karnataka government has set up a team of senior ministers to directly engage with industry leaders in Bengaluru, seeking solutions to infrastructure bottlenecks and growth challenges.

In a bid to address the long-standing concerns of Bengaluru’s industries, Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru-in-charge Minister D K Shivakumar announced the formation of a special ministerial team on Friday. The panel will interact with business leaders, gather feedback, and suggest actionable reforms to the state government.

The ministers are tasked with holding consultations with IT companies and industry bodies, focusing on infrastructure gaps, policy hurdles, and the city’s growing urban challenges. The team will submit detailed recommendations, which will serve as the basis for targeted development works.

“The government wants to work in close coordination with the IT and industrial sectors. The panel will listen to stakeholders, collect their suggestions, and implement practical measures,” Shivakumar said.

The government also plans to facilitate on-ground visits by ministers to IT campuses, enabling them to directly observe the operational environment and challenges faced by the industry.

Officials said the initiative is designed to build confidence among investors and reinforce Bengaluru’s global position as India’s technology hub. By bridging communication between government and industry, the state hopes to create a more business-friendly ecosystem.

While industry leaders have welcomed the move, they are keen to see how quickly the government translates consultations into concrete action. For now, the new panel is being viewed as a positive signal of political intent to resolve Bengaluru’s civic and industrial woes.

Ashwath Narayan Slams Shivakumar’s Remark

Former Deputy CM C.N. Ashwath Narayan hit out at D.K. Shivakumar for his “don’t care” remark on entrepreneurs, calling it arrogant and anti-people. He said Bengaluru’s global reputation rests on entrepreneurship, but the Congress government’s intolerance to criticism shows discourtesy, lack of accountability, and high-handedness.
