South Western Railway (SWR) organised the Swachhta Hi Seva–2025 campaign at SSS Hubballi Railway Station on Wednesday. Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi, V Somanna attended the event as the Chief Guests and administered the cleanliness pledge to all participants, stressing the importance of hygiene and public responsibility.
A tree plantation drive followed, promoting environmental conservation with dignitaries and volunteers planting several saplings. A cleanliness drive was also conducted across the station premises, where railway staff and local officials united in their efforts to maintain a clean and green environment. The event saw enthusiastic participation and helped spread awareness about sustainable living and environmental protection.
MLA Mahesh Tenginakayi, General Manager Mukul Saran Mathur, DRM Hubballi Bela Meena, and other senior officials took part in the event.
Later in the day, SWR organized the Swasth Nari Sashakt Pariwar campaign at the Officers’ Club. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the campaign aimed to create awareness about women’s health and the well-being of children.
In collaboration with Central Hospital, HCG Cancer Centre, and Rashtrotthana Blood Centre, a medical camp offered various services including screening for diabetes, hypertension, oral, breast and cervical cancer, eye check-ups, mental health counselling, and a blood donation camp. Many employees and their families participated and benefited from the services.
Later on, General Manager Mukul Saran Mathur administered the Swachhta Pledge at Rail Soudha, encouraging officers and staff to take collective responsibility in maintaining cleanliness and promoting sustainability.
SWR Chief Public Relations Officer Dr Manjunath Kanamadi and other officers were present.
