Stalin called the tri-celebrations inspiring, highlighting DMK’s 75-year legacy as a strong, principled “fortress”

Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin on Saturday asserted that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is not a movement that disturbs public life, but one that has safeguarded Tamil Nadu’s identity and contributed to its modern development.
In what appeared to be a veiled swipe at actor-politician Vijay, who began his statewide tour from Tiruchirappalli amid chaotic crowds, Stalin contrasted the disciplined behavior of DMK cadres with frenzied gatherings. He said, “The DMK is not a movement that gathers unprincipled crowds and disturbs the public. When we assemble, we do so as a disciplined battalion. After the meeting, we disperse as soldiers with a mission.”
Through a letter to his party members, Stalin called upon them to attend DMK’s annual “Mupperum Vizha” in Karur on September 17. The event will honor the birth anniversaries of rationalist leader Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai, and mark DMK’s founding day.
Stalin described the tri-celebrations as a source of inspiration, reminding cadres of the party’s rich 75-year history. He said the DMK stood strong like a “fortress” rooted in principles, immune to attacks from political rivals.
The Chief Minister emphasized that DMK’s journey is not about noise or disruption but constructive action and continuity of values. He expressed pride in carrying forward the legacy of Periyar and Annadurai.
The Karur event will begin at 5 p.m. on September 17. It will be presided over by party general secretary Duraimurugan, with treasurer and MP T.R. Baalu, minister K.N. Nehru, and other senior leaders expected to participate.
