Young Officers Commended for Excellence, Discipline, and Leadership Skills

The Air Force Technical College celebrated the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 105th Aeronautical Engineering Course on Saturday, marking the successful completion of 62 weeks of intensive training. The event saw the graduation of 71 engineering officers, including 13 officers from Friendly Foreign Countries (FFC), in the presence of dignitaries, officials, air warriors, parents, and veterans.
According to a defence press release, Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, IAF, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inspected the parade as Reviewing Officer. He was received by Air Commodore Ashutosh Shrivastava, Commandant of the College. The ceremony featured a spectacular flypast by Dorniers and Mi-17 helicopters, accompanied by performances from the ‘Air Warrior Drill Team’ and the IAF Band.
Trophies and medallions were awarded to officers who excelled in their training. Flying Officer Sanapala Madhu received the prestigious ‘Sword of Honour’ for securing first in the order-of-merit. Flying Officer Nisarg Sharad Surve was awarded the ‘President’s Plaque’ for outstanding performance in professional subjects and General Service Training. The ‘Chief of Air Staff Medals’ were presented to Flying Officer Kunal Phaghal and Flying Officer Bhanupriya Sharma for topping the Electronics and Mechanical streams, respectively.
In his address, the AOC-in-C, MC, congratulated the graduating officers and emphasized the importance of operational readiness, technological proficiency, and continuous skill enhancement. He urged officers to maintain high physical and mental fitness, excel in leadership, and harness technology effectively, highlighting that their dedication directly contributes to the combat effectiveness of the Indian Air Force. The parade celebrated not only academic and technical excellence but also leadership, discipline, and commitment to national service.
