In a dramatic turn in Telangana politics, suspended BRS leader and MLC K Kavitha resigned from both her party membership and council seat, accusing her cousins of betrayal and collusion with the Congress government.

Senior BRS leader K Kavitha, daughter of party founder and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), on Wednesday announced her resignation from the party and the Legislative Council, alleging conspiracies within her own family.
Addressing reporters at the Telangana Jagruthi headquarters, the 47-year-old former MP said cousins T Harish Rao and J Santosh Kumar had “plotted to weaken and seize control” of the party from the KCR family. “Despite being active in the BRS, I was suspended for raising public issues like BC reservations. How is that anti-party?” she asked.
Kavitha accused Harish Rao of colluding with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, claiming the two travelled together to Delhi to conspire against her family. She alleged Harish was attempting to sideline both KCR and working president K T Rama Rao (KTR), warning her brother to “be careful” of such moves.
Turning her attack on Santosh Kumar, Kavitha charged him with corruption, misuse of office, and links to a ₹700-crore real estate project. She claimed their actions had given the Congress government grounds to order a CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram project.
“I never aspired for posts. I am resigning from the MLC position and from the BRS. KCR and KTR should beware of Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar,” she declared.
