Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Chandrashekhar B. Kandakur paid a surprise visit to the BCM boys’ pre-matric and post-matric hostels in Gajendragad late on Monday night. He was accompanied by Basavaraj Badigera, Assistant Director, Rural Employment Agency.
During the visit, the EO interacted with hostel students and gathered feedback regarding cleanliness, food arrangements, and the availability of basic amenities. He emphasized that the state government has provided comprehensive facilities in BCM hostels to support students’ education and urged them to make the best use of these resources for their future as well as for the benefit of students who will stay in the hostels later. “When we were students, we never had access to such facilities. Today, when everything is available, you must not fall behind in studies. Treat these hostels like prayer centers, dedicate yourselves to learning, and aim for high government positions,” he advised.
Kandakur assured students that if they faced difficulty in any subject, they could reach out to him for assistance, and arrangements would be made for additional teaching support. He inspected each room, checking cleanliness, bedding, and cot arrangements.
He also requested that the damaged road leading to the hostel be repaired at the earliest. Meanwhile, students put forth a request to be served chicken meals once a week. The EO responded that at present, the provision is only once a month, but if the government approves, the frequency could be increased in the future.
