Hemaraddi Neelgund, Coordinator of the Mahayogi Vemana Study Chair, highlighted the importance of women in family and society at a Shravan valedictory programme

“Clothes for women are a symbol of Indian culture,” said Hemaraddi Neelgund, Coordinator of the Mahayogi Vemana Study Chair at Karnataka University, Dharwad.
Speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the Shravan month programme held in Benakatti village near Rampur, organized in collaboration with Mudhol’s Akhila Karnataka Mahasadvi Hemaraddi Mallamma, Mahayogi Vemanara Vrata Prachar Samiti, Benakatti Hemaraddi Mallamma Temple Committee, and local women’s groups, she stressed the vital role of women in managing families and building a better society. “It is our tradition to respect them,” she added.
Poornananda Sri of Kalmada-Lakshanatti was present on the occasion. Researcher Sangamesh Kalyani delivered the introductory speech. Guests Gayatri Neelgund and Prof. Anita Patil also addressed the gathering. The programme was presided over by Hemaraddi Mallamma Temple Committee President Pandita Macha.
All Karnataka Vrat Prachar Samiti President SP Jainapura, Secretary Ninganagouda Patil, along with Muthu Arakeri, DM Bennur, Ganga Amateppanavara, and Panduranga Sannappavara were among the attendees.
As part of the programme, more than 350 women from various places were presented with clothes, and donors of Vratavakrat books were felicitated.
