In a tragic accident on Friday morning, an 11-year-old girl was run over by a Karnataka government-run bus in Bengaluru. The incident occurred near Maruti Nagar at around 8:20 am when Tanvi Krishna, a Class 7 student of Millennium School, was on her way to school with her mother and younger sister on a two-wheeler.

According to sources, the two-wheeler skidded, causing Tanvi to fall. A Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus coming from behind ran over her, resulting in her instant death. The accident has left the family and local community in shock.

CCTV footage of the incident captured the horrifying moments as Tanvi’s mother sat crying inconsolably by the roadside, with her younger daughter beside her. While most passersby remained onlookers, one man is seen rushing to help the victim’s mother and sister.

Yelahanka Traffic Police have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning witnesses to ascertain the exact circumstances of the accident.

The tragic death of Tanvi Krishna highlights ongoing road safety concerns in the city, particularly involving school-going children and the operation of public transport vehicles. Officials have urged commuters and vehicle operators to exercise greater caution, especially during morning hours when traffic is heavy and children are on the roads.
