RBI Official Warns Customers Against Fraud CallsChitradurga

“Customers should stay alert against fraudsters by avoiding anonymous calls, ignoring suspicious digital links, and completing KYC for Jan Dhan Yojana accounts to receive government scheme benefits,” said Sonali Sengupta, Regional Director of RBI, Bangalore.

She was speaking after inaugurating the Gram Panchayat-level social security schemes saturation campaign organized by Canara Bank and the District Lead Bank in Janakal village, Hosadurga taluk.

Lead Bank Senior Manager M. Raghavendra urged people to enroll in Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana. He explained that accounts must remain active for government funds to be credited, and under the campaign, inactive accounts would be reactivated immediately.

Janakal Gram Panchayat Development Officer Shivakumar stressed the need to maintain a minimum balance and register for social security schemes to ensure accounts remain functional.

The event was attended by Bangalore Regional Office Manager Meenakshi, RBI Assistant Director Arun Kumar, Canara Bank DGM Tanmay Das, Janakal Gram Panchayat President Prakash, SBI Financial Consultant Madhusudhan, Hiriyur Financial Literacy Coordinator T.R. Girish, and others.

“Mobile phones have become our banks today. To avoid losing money to digital fraud, customers must remain cautious, said Sonali Sengupta, Director of RBI’s Bengaluru Regional Office.
