Government to issue PSI orders soon

Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara on Tuesday announced that appointment orders will be issued within the next 15 days to 545 candidates selected for the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) posts.

Speaking to reporters, the minister recalled that the recruitment process conducted under the previous government was marred by a major scam. Despite the controversy, 545 candidates had been cleared for selection and are currently undergoing training. He added that medical examinations for 402 candidates are in progress, and upon completion, the government will formally issue appointment orders.

“The delay in appointments was mainly due to the irregularities reported earlier, but the government is committed to ensuring that deserving candidates are not denied opportunities. Within 15 days, all formalities will be completed and appointment orders will be handed over,” Dr. Parameshwara assured. On the issue of implementing internal reservation, the minister clarified that the Nagamohan Das Committee has already submitted its report. The recommendations will be taken up for discussion in the special Cabinet meeting scheduled for August 19, where a final decision is expected.

He further stressed that the government is working to bring transparency and fairness in recruitment processes. “No eligible candidate will face injustice. The system is being streamlined so that recruitment scams never occur again,” he said. The announcement has come as welcome news for aspirants, many of whom had been waiting anxiously for clarity on their future. The decision is also expected to boost morale within the police department by filling long-pending vacancies.
