U Mumba, champions of Pro Kabaddi League Season 2, are eyeing their second title in PKL Season 12, which kicks off on August 29. After reaching the playoffs in Season 11, the team has brought in Anil Chaprana as their new head coach, replacing Gholamreza Mazandarani.
Under the leadership of captain Sunil Kumar, U Mumba have retained a strong core, including raiders Ajit Chouhan and Satish Kannan, and defenders like Deepak Kundu, Lokesh Ghosliya, and Parvesh Bhainswal. Sunil, one of PKL’s top defenders, will anchor the team’s solid defence.
They also made headlines by signing young all-rounder Aanil Mohan for ₹78 lakhs—the most expensive Category D player in PKL history. However, the team will miss former lead raider Manjeet Dahiya, who joined Jaipur Pink Panthers.
With several young players in key roles, including Ajit as the potential lead raider, U Mumba’s biggest challenge may be their lack of experience, especially in the left corner.
Still, the franchise sees this season as a turning point. With a mix of youth, energy, and a familiar coach at the helm, U Mumba hopes to reclaim its past glory in Season 12.
