On the occasion of Independence Day, a campaign called “Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata, Festival of Independence with Cleanliness, has been organized in the district, said Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr S Akash.
On the occasion of 79th Independence Day, with the aim of creating more awareness among the rural people across the country about water and sanitation, the campaign was launched from August 08 under the slogan “Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata, Celebrate the Festival of Independence with Swachhata” and will continue till August 15.
Under this campaign, Swachhata Sujal Grama Pratibha, Community Sanitation Campaigns, Cleaning of WASH Properties, Awareness Activities, Water Conservation and Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Important places like Amrit Sarovar, Public Places etc. will be organized in Villages and Gram Panchayats.
Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata, Celebrate the Festival of Independence with Swachhata will be actively participated in the campaign by District, Taluk and Gram Panchayats and local bodies, Village Water and Sanitation Committees, Self-Help Groups, Panchayat Raj Institutions, School Children, Volunteers and Frontline Workers. Actively participate in this campaign and make it a success.
As part of the campaign, officers, local elected representatives, community members and school children will take the Swachh Sujal Gram pledge. Community cleanliness drive, cleanliness of public places, awareness activities, cleanliness of drains, plastic waste collection campaign will be organized. WASH infrastructure cleanliness day, special focus on JJM infrastructure. Organize Swachhta Dialogue and Awareness Day and organize flag hoisting programs on August 15 at WASH infrastructure public places such as Gram Panchayat building and other government buildings, Amrit Sarovars etc.
Flag hoisting will be carried out at individual houses identified under Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan. Recognise and honor the contributions of Swachhta champions and volunteers. The District Magistrate has requested the participation of Gram Panchayat Presidents, members, members of Sanjeevini Yojana Self-Help Association, youth, villagers in this campaign and make it a success, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr S Akash said.
