The Congress intensified its campaign against alleged vote chori by releasing a video showing fake votes being cast, with party chief Mallikarjun Kharge urging people to speak out and protect constitutional institutions from BJP’s control. Rahul Gandhi shared the video, calling vote theft a robbery of rights and identity, while Priyanka Gandhi Vadra echoed the message.

Congress has called vote chori a critical issue, planning public outreach through activities like the August 14 Loktantra Bachao Mashaal March. Between August 22 and September 7, it will hold Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhor rallies across state capitals, followed by a nationwide signature campaign from September 15 to October 15 to safeguard voting rights.
Party leaders, including Kharge, Rahul, Priyanka, Jairam Ramesh, and Sachin Pilot, met to strategise. Kanhaiya Kumar, AICC in-charge of NSUI, said Rahul Gandhi has presented evidence showing democracy being undermined. The campaign will also run through a web portal — votechori.in/ecdemand — where citizens can register, download proof, and demand accountability from the Election Commission.
Rahul Gandhi has claimed massive electoral fraud through BJP–EC collusion, citing a Karnataka constituency as proof. On Monday, several opposition MPs staged a protest march from Parliament to the EC office over electoral roll revisions in Bihar but were stopped and briefly detained by police.
