Actor Rajniesh Duggal opened up about his role in the upcoming film Saira Khan Case, which is based on a real-life courtroom case. The film is inspired by a landmark judgment delivered by former Principal Judge Swati Chauhan, who also makes her directorial debut with this project.
Rajniesh plays the role of a husband involved in a controversial case of triple talaq and multiple marriages. Speaking about the film, he said it’s more than just entertainment—it tells a powerful story rooted in justice and real-life struggle.
“This role pushed me to show the emotional depth and moral conflict of my character,” Rajniesh said. “It was important to portray him with honesty—flaws, guilt, and all—so the bigger message of the film could come through.”
He added that being part of a film based on real court proceedings was both humbling and challenging. The film explores the emotional journey of a Muslim woman who was unilaterally divorced and separated from her children.
Directed by Swati Chauhan and co-directed by Karan Razdan, the film also stars Poonam Dubey, Rajeev Verma, Aradhana Sharma, and Mukesh Tyagi. Saira Khan Case will release in theatres on October 10, 2025.
