Man Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Killing Wife

The 72nd Sessions Court of the city has ordered the life imprisonment of the accused who allegedly murdered his wife. Balveer Singh alias Ballu (54) was convicted. Balveer Singh, a resident of Dasarahalli, Agrahara, had killed his wife Shalini Devi on the morning of September 9, 2017. The Magadi police station, which registered a case and sent Dalveer to jail, conducted an investigation and submitted a charge sheet to the court. Judge Jyotisree of the 72nd Sessions Court, who has completed the trial of the case, sentenced the convict Balveer Singh to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. In addition, Rs 1.50 lakh each to the two daughters of deceased Shalinidevi. He has ordered the District Legal Service Authority to provide compensation. Government prosecutor H.R. Satyavathy argued for the prosecution. There was a family feud between Balveer and Shalinidevi, who was working as a beadar during auspicious ceremonies. In 2013, Shalinidevi filed a case in Cottonpet police station against Balveer’s mental and physical harassment. He was sentenced to jail in this case and released. Balveer was angry with his wife for not coming to see him when he was in jail. He was also harassing her on the suspicion of having an immoral relationship with a pro man. The police said that on September 9, 2017, he killed his wife by slitting her throat with a knife and escaped.
