BTP conducts awareness drives on road safety

The Bengaluru City Traffic Police (BTP) has intensified its road safety awareness initiatives by organizing a series of lectures and interactive sessions at the city’s Traffic Management Centre (TMC). The programs were aimed at sensitizing both public transport drivers and students on the importance of traffic discipline, safe driving practices, and smoother traffic flow.

In one session, officials addressed drivers of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), highlighting the critical role they play in ensuring commuter safety. Traffic police personnel explained road safety norms, stressed the dangers of rash driving, and advised drivers on preventive measures to reduce accidents. “BMTC drivers are responsible for thousands of passengers daily, and their adherence to safety regulations directly impacts lives,” an officer remarked.

In another program, Assistant Sub-Inspectors delivered lectures to college students visiting the Traffic Management Centre. Students from Bengaluru Institute of Technology, VV Puram, participated in an awareness tour, where officers briefed them on traffic rules, road safety measures, and the consequences of violations. The sessions also included live demonstrations on traffic monitoring and control systems, helping students understand how the city manages its growing traffic challenges. The BTP emphasized that spreading awareness among youth and professional drivers is vital to building a culture of responsible road use. By targeting both future road users and those already on the roads, the initiative seeks to minimize accidents, ease congestion, and promote safety for all commuters in Bengaluru.
