Bengaluru Police Strengthen Road Safety, Enforce Parking Regulations
The Bengaluru Traffic Police conducted an inspection at the busy Marathahalli Bridge Junction on Monday to review recently introduced traffic modifications aimed at improving vehicle movement and easing congestion in the area. The visit was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic East) along with the Station Officer of HAL Airport Traffic Police Station and the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Whitefield Traffic Division.
During the inspection, officials carefully assessed the impact of new traffic changes introduced to streamline vehicular flow. Discussions were held regarding additional measures required to address persistent challenges such as bottlenecks and unauthorized parking that frequently disrupt smooth movement at the junction.
The DCP (Traffic East) issued clear instructions to officers to ensure that vehicle users avoid haphazard roadside parking, which poses a significant hazard for both motorists and pedestrians. He emphasized the strict enforcement of parking regulations, directing that vehicles must be parked only in designated zones. This, he noted, was essential not only for reducing congestion but also for enhancing road safety at one of the city’s busiest intersections.
The Inspection also focused on identifying potential improvements in signage, pedestrian safety, and coordination between enforcement and engineering teams to provide long-term solutions for traffic management. Officials reiterated their commitment to closely monitoring compliance and assured that violators would face strict action. The Bengaluru Traffic Police emphasized that cooperation from road users, combined with continued enforcement, will be key to ensuring smoother traffic flow and improved safety at Marathahalli Junction.
