Dedicate knowledge to the nation: Governor

Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot said that the purpose of higher education is to mobilize the youth to create knowledge and face the future challenges of mankind.

He was speaking at the inauguration of National Conference of the Chancellors on “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals through Higher Education Institutions” and the 96th Annual Meeting organized by the University of Mysuru  and the Association of Indian Universities.

The basic purpose of education is to acquire knowledge. Education will lead to universal progress. Education is essential for realizing new innovations. The Government of India has implemented a National Education Policy in this regard, he said.

By providing appropriate opportunities, India will become a world leader in the true sense of being aligned with justice and moral values. We need to work hard to provide the education and opportunities for young people in this regard, he said.

The Universities are already serving the field of education. It is the wish of the government for the development of the country and that everyone should join hands with it to assist in the creation of a Atma Nirbhar Bharat, he said.

Hon’ble Vice President Venkaiah Naidu delivered his address virtually.

President of Indian Universities Association Col Dr G Thiruvasagam, Chancellors Prof G Hemanth Kumar, AIU General Secretary Dr Pankaj Mittal, Registrar Shivappa and other dignitaries were present.
