On March 20, Team RRR – NT Rama Rao Jr, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and director SS Rajamouli – met fans at a hotel in Delhi and discussed the film. Rajamouli told Delhiites that he feels like a royal in Delhi. “Delhi is a capital city. There’s that vibe to it. Now Delhi and earlier Hastinapur was the capital of the country and hence being in Delhi feels like I am wearing a crown. All history lessons and mythology lessons come to your mind,” he said.
Aamir was a surprise guest at the event and interacting with fans, he said, ” Jitna aap log excited hai RRR dekhne ke liye utna main bhi hoon. Baahubali became such a big hit and connected with people across the country. I want to ask Rajamouli how he connects with the pan-India audience.”
Rajamouli responded, “The film that I know connected with the audience across the country was Lagaan. From Lagaan, I learnt that if you make a story based on basic human emotions then I have a chance of connecting with more people.” Ram Charan also told the audience, “I have been a huge fan of Aamir for so so long, I want to add many ‘so’s.” But Aamir interrupted him and shared, “I have been a fan of your father (Chiranjeevi) much before that!”
Aamir said that now that theatres are open, people are coming back to watch all films. “Be it The Kashmir Files or Gangubai Kathiawadi, people are coming to theatres to watch all films,” he said. When a fan asked Aamir if he will watch The Kashmir Files, he said, ” Zaroor dekhunga main. Woh ek history ka aisa hissa hai, hamara dil dukhta hai jisse… Kashmir mein jo Kashmiri Pandits ke saath hua hai, woh yakeenan bahut hi dukh ki baat hai. Aur aisi ek film jo bani hai uspe, woh yakeenan har Hindustani ko dekhna chahiye . Aur har Hindustani ko yaad karna chahiye ki ek insaan pe jab atyachaar hota hai toh uspe kya beetti hai. This film has touched the emotions of all people who believe in humanity and I think that’s what is wonderful. I will definitely watch the film and I am so happy to see that the film is successful. It was a time in India which was sad and which I think people in India should look carefully at.”
