Ashneer Grover, the co-founder of BharatPe and a former MD who left the company in March of last year, received a salary of 1.69 crores in the financial year (FY) 2022, while Madhuri, his wife, earned 63 lakh, which cited regulatory filings from the business. Board member and co-founder Shashvat Nakrani made 29.8 lakh rupees, and Kewal Handa, another member of the BharatPe board, made 36 lakh rupees, among other important senior individuals. The fintech company compensated Suhail Sameer, its former CEO and current strategic advisor, 2.1 crores.
On the other side, Chairman Rajnish Kumar, a former executive of the State Bank of India (SBI), was paid $21.4 lakh. Grover referred to Kumar, who began working with BharatPe in October 2021, as his “worst hiring blunder” in December of last year. Earlier this month, Kumar declined to respond to the jab, declaring that he would never lower himself to the previous MD’s status. It should be noted that the salaries listed above do not account for share-based payments made to each employee, who also stated that the company’s financials reveal that share-based payments totaling 70 crores were made in FY 2022, up 218% from the prior fiscal year.
