A two-day initial meeting of the Startup 20 Engagement Group, formed during India’s G20 presidency, will take place in Hyderabad starting on Saturday. The G20 consists of both developed and developing countries. This year, India is in the presidency.
According to G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant, Hyderabad has a culture of innovation, and Startup 20 is a significant engagement group. According to Anurag Jain, secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Startup20 has three distinct tracks: foundation and alliance; finance; and inclusivity and sustainability. Startup20 aims to develop a worldwide narrative for fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among startups, corporations, investors, innovation agencies, and other important ecosystem members.

This group’s goal is to provide a common forum for startups from G20 member nations to come together and develop practical advice on topics like increasing enablers’ capacities, identifying funding gaps, improving employment opportunities, achieving SDG targets and climate resilience, and developing an inclusive ecosystem, according to the statement. Five events make up the Startup20 activities. On Saturday and Sunday, Hyderabad will host Startup20’s Inception Meet (January 28 and 29). Three events are scheduled before and after the summit in various regions of the nation. The summit will take place in Gurugram in July.
