More than 12.98 lakh voter census forms have been computerized in Chitradurga district as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner T. Venkatesh said.
He urged eligible voters who have not submitted their forms to complete the process before August 17.
According to officials, Booth Level Officers have been distributing census forms door to door since June 30. Forms were issued to 14,40,534 voters across 1,661 polling stations, with more than 90 percent already computerized. The exercise is being conducted under the directions of the Election Commission of India to update and verify electoral records.
Constituency-wise, 2,32,691 forms have been computerized in Molakalmuru, 2,31,880 in Chitradurga, 2,22,415 in Holalkere, 2,21,920 in Hiriyur, 2,00,228 in Challakere and 1,89,541 in Hosadurga. During verification, officials identified 70,133 permanent migrations, 30,768 deaths, 21,262 duplicate entries and 18,695 absentee cases.
The deadline for submitting completed census forms has been extended to August 17 from the earlier August 8 date. Polling station rationalisation will also be completed by August 17. The draft electoral roll will be published on August 24, after which voters can file objections from August 24 to September 23. Officials will process applications and objections until October 22.
The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on October 27. The district administration has appealed to voters to submit their forms within the revised deadline and cooperate with election officials. Authorities said timely participation would help ensure accurate voter records and a smoother electoral process in the district.
