Hybrid long-short funds dominate SIF assets in May

Hybrid long-short funds accounted for 70 per cent of Specialised Investment Funds (SIF) assets under management in May 2026, reaching Rs 9,709 crore, according to a ValueMetrics report. Total SIF AUM stood at Rs 13,814 crore, with an average folio size of Rs 24.3 lakh. Equity-oriented strategies contributed Rs 3,843 crore, or 28 per cent of total AUM. Monthly SIF inflows rose 15 per cent to Rs 1,396 crore in May. Hybrid long-short funds attracted Rs 707 crore, while equity-oriented strategies received Rs 652 crore. The broader mutual fund industry reported Rs 81.6 lakh crore in AUM, supported by strong SIP contributions and steady retail participation.
