Following the death of Sunjay Kapur in June 2025, a legal dispute has erupted over his Rs 30,000 crore estate. Karisma Kapoor’s two children have approached the Delhi High Court, challenging the late businessman’s will and seeking their share of the assets. Sunjay’s widow, Priya Kapur, has been directed by the court to disclose all movable and immovable assets as of June 12, 2025.

Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, has also raised concerns, alleging she was excluded from the will despite being a Class 1 legatee. During the hearing, Priya’s lawyer acknowledged that the will was unregistered but argued that it should still be valid. He also claimed that the children had already received assets worth Rs 1,900 crore just days before the suit.

The children’s legal team, led by senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, highlighted the exclusion of the children from the will as suspicious and urged the court to freeze any transfer or sale of assets until the matter is resolved. The case underscores a high-stakes family dispute involving multiple heirs from Sunjay Kapur’s two marriages to Karisma Kapoor and Priya Kapur.
