Officials Discuss Emergency Measures and Coordination to Protect Citizens from Flood Risks
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday convened a comprehensive video conference with divisional officers, deputy commissioners, and Zilla Panchayat CEOs to assess the damage caused by the heavy rains during the 2025 monsoon season. The meeting focused on reviewing the measures taken so far and planning further steps to mitigate the impact on affected regions.
The Chief Minister was joined by ministers including NC Cheluvaraya, Krishna Byre Gowda, HK Patil, Priyank Kharge, and Santosh Lad, along with Chief Secretary Dr. Shalini Rajneesh and senior officials from relevant departments. Detailed reports on flood-affected areas, landslides, road damages, and disruptions in essential services were presented during the session.
Officials briefed the CM on relief operations, rehabilitation efforts, and coordination between state and district-level teams. The discussion emphasized quick restoration of damaged infrastructure, supply of food and medical aid to affected citizens, and monitoring of water levels in reservoirs and rivers. Special attention was given to low-lying areas and vulnerable populations to ensure safety and minimize further risks.
Siddaramaiah directed officials to expedite relief measures and strengthen preventive strategies for future heavy rainfall events. He also stressed the importance of timely communication with the public to keep them informed and ensure smooth execution of emergency protocols.
