Mangaluru
The proposed Bengaluru–Mangaluru–Madgaon Vande Bharat train is expected to begin operations before the monsoon season this year. Electrification of the route, a key requirement, has been completed, and preliminary testing has already been conducted successfully by railway authorities. Work to enhance track capacity at select stretches is also progressing steadily, enabling smoother operations. Trial runs are likely to begin before June, officials indicated. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently said the service will start soon. Speed will be limited in the ghat section between Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya for safety reasons, while improvements elsewhere may allow faster travel overall.
