Passengers help woman deliver baby on train

Fellow passengers successfully helped a woman deliver her baby on a train after medical help failed to arrive promptly.

MANGALURU

In a heartwarming display of humanity, a pregnant woman gave birth on a train with the help of fellow passengers after medical help failed to arrive in time. The incident occurred on a train traveling from Mangaluru to Mysuru, which had to make an emergency stop at the B.C. Road station in Bantwal after the woman went into active labor.

As soon as the train halted, officials called for medical assistance. However, tension grew as more than thirty minutes passed without a doctor reaching the platform. With the situation becoming critical, two brave women passengers stepped forward to help. Turning the toilet area of the train coach into a makeshift delivery room, the co-travellers successfully assisted the woman in giving birth.

Once the delivery was complete, railway personnel quickly coordinated to transport the mother and her newborn to the Government Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangaluru. Hospital staff have since confirmed that both the mother, who is a resident of Mysuru, and her baby are in stable condition and doing well.

While the story ended happily thanks to the quick thinking of strangers, the delay in professional medical response has raised questions. Railway authorities have remained silent regarding why a doctor was unable to reach the station during the half-hour wait. For now, the passengers are being hailed as heroes for ensuring that a journey meant for home ended with the safe arrival of a new life.
