Mangaluru
The Bengaluru–Mangaluru–Madgaon Vande Bharat train service is likely to begin before the monsoon, bringing faster rail travel to Karnataka and Goa. Officials said electrification of the route is complete and trial runs may start before June. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the service will be launched soon. The train is expected to cut travel time, though speed limits remain in the ghat section between Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya. Final stops are not yet fixed, but a halt in Mangaluru is widely expected. Leaders from the region are pushing for inclusion of coastal stations in the route.
