Raichur
A simple yet thoughtful gesture by Nara Lokesh won widespread praise during the unveiling of a statue of N. T. Rama Rao at Hosalli (EJ) Camp in Sindhanur taluk of Raichur district.
The statue was installed at the Kammavari Kalyana Mantap premises and unveiled in the presence of several dignitaries, including Union Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy, Union Minister Sanjay Seth, and State Minister N. S. Boseraju. A large number of supporters and local residents attended the event.
After the unveiling, a public programme was held. Organisers had arranged a special chair on the stage for Nara Lokesh as a mark of respect. However, Lokesh’s reaction to this arrangement became the highlight of the event.
Seeing senior leaders on the dais, Lokesh politely requested Kumaraswamy to take the special chair first, citing his experience and seniority. When Kumaraswamy declined, Lokesh suggested removing the chair altogether to ensure equality among all leaders on the stage. He then chose to sit on a regular chair along with others.
His gesture was warmly appreciated by the audience, who applauded his humility and respect for fellow leaders. Many attendees said such actions reflect strong values and a grounded personality.
The programme ended on a positive note, with speakers remembering the contributions of N. T. Rama Rao and highlighting the importance of unity and public service.
