Anyone Can Inaugurate Dasara If Constitution Permits: UT Khader

Karnataka Speaker U.T. Khader said Dasara can be inaugurated by anyone if constitutionally valid.

Karnataka Speaker U.T. Khader stated that if the government’s decision regarding the Dasara inauguration is constitutionally valid, it must be accepted, and anyone can participate in the event within constitutional limits.

Responding to BJP leader Banu Mushtaq’s criticism over the Dasara inauguration, Khader said both the government and opposition should wait for clarity, adding that only constitutional compliance matters. “If it is in line with the Constitution, nothing is wrong. Anyone can inaugurate Dasara,” he emphasized.

On the ongoing Dharmasthala case, Khader warned that no one should speak or act as a judge until the Special Investigation Team (SIT) submits its report. The SIT has been constituted by the government, and the investigation is underway. Khader stressed that the sanctity of the institution is paramount and that preserving the reputation of educational and religious establishments is crucial. He noted that building an institution requires great effort, whereas tarnishing it is easy. “Everyone should wait for the SIT report before commenting or taking a stance. Once the findings are released, discussions can continue,” he added.

Khader’s remarks underscore the importance of constitutional adherence in public events and caution against premature commentary on sensitive cases while investigations are ongoing.
