Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar addressed the media on Wednesday in Sadashinagar, expressing uncertainty regarding the upcoming cabinet reshuffle. He stated that it is customary for the Chief Minister to consult with KPCC President before making such decisions, but added, “I do not know what decision will be taken.” Parameshwar also mentioned that he has not been informed about Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’s recent statement on the reshuffle and clarified that discussions are expected to take place with the high command.
On the issue of guarantees, Parameshwar responded to MLA Gaviyappa’s comments, saying that while MLAs are free to voice their opinions, the party and government have already decided on the guarantees. He assured that the guarantees will continue to be enforced, and no programs have been stopped. The government, he explained, is working on securing additional grants from both the state and the central government to address pending bills and resource shortages.
Addressing controversial remarks made by Chandrasekhara Swamiji, who stated that Muslims should not have the right to vote, Parameshwar strongly emphasized that the Constitution guarantees equal rights to all communities. “It is not right to speak against the Constitution,” he concluded.
