BBMP Commissioner Tushar Girinath announced that nodal officers will be appointed in every ward to address citizens’ grievances efficiently. This move aims to provide residents with a direct point of contact to raise concerns and seek timely solutions.
During a “Commissioner’s Round with the Ward” program in Dasarahalli, residents highlighted several issues. One resident pointed out that ward committee meetings had stopped, leaving community problems unresolved. The Commissioner assured that the new nodal officers would help resolve such concerns.
Another issue raised was the difficulty in obtaining the final e-Khata required for property purchases. Girinath directed Joint Commissioners to resolve this matter within a week.
A resident shared a personal injury incident caused by a falling tree branch, resulting in medical expenses of ₹6 lakh. The Commissioner instructed officials to transfer ₹3.5 lakh as compensation under the law.
Additional complaints included clogged stormwater drains, stagnant water on roads, and demands for a pedestrian underpass on Dasarahalli Main Road. Residents also reported unauthorized constructions, improper waste segregation, and illegal dumping. Concerns about homes built on stormwater drains in Kodigehalli and Tata Nagar were also highlighted.
Other requests included improved Kaveri water supply, better funding for development projects, and permissions for single-household constructions. Residents raised concerns about tree branches obstructing roads and illegal building activities.
The Commissioner assured citizens that these issues would be resolved within set timelines. Zone Commissioner Karigowda, Joint Commissioner Mohammed Nayeem Momin, Deputy Commissioner Mamta, and Chief Engineer Ranganath were also present at the meeting.
