Over 1,000 villages to benefit from Jal Jeevan Mission projects

A total of 1,016 villages in the district will benefit from drinking water projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, announced Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rishi Anand. He shared that 577 projects have already been completed, while 439 more are currently under progress.
At a meeting held at the Zilla Panchayat hall, he reviewed the progress of the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department. The Jal Jeevan Mission aims to provide tap water connections to 4.64 lakh households, with 3.24 lakh households already connected. The remaining 1.40 lakh households are expected to be covered within the scheduled time, with 15,000 households targeted for connection by the end of November.
Officials from the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department and the District Health and Family Welfare Department were directed to jointly monitor the quality of drinking water.
Additionally, 34 model Anganwadis will be developed in the district, with plans to provide tap water connections to these facilities as part of the mission.
