Kerala’s CB Benson and Reena Manohar emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s categories at the Kochi Spice Coast Marathon 2024 on Sunday.
Benson completed the 42.2-kilometer race in an impressive time of 3:00:42, securing the title after finishing second in the previous two editions. Justin (03:06:56) and Sreenidhi Sreekumar (03:08:49) finished second and third, respectively.
In the women’s category, Reena Manohar led the pack with a time of 04:50:06. Mary Joshy (04:53:59) and Nileena Babu (04:54:32) rounded out the podium.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, the event’s brand ambassador, expressed his delight at the turnout. “I congratulate all the winners and runners for their brilliant performances. It’s great to see so many running enthusiasts embracing a healthy lifestyle,” Tendulkar said.
In the half-marathon, Sajith KM achieved a hat-trick, winning the title for the third consecutive year with a time of 1:21:23. Athul Raj (01:22:37) and Vishnu VR (01:23:05) secured second and third place.
Among the women in the half-marathon, AK Rama (1:55:33) claimed victory, with Jaseena Khani (1:58:03) and Bismy Augustine (1:59:00) finishing in second and third positions.
