The Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM) has issued a warning to electricity consumers regarding unpaid bills. Starting October 1, the company will enforce strict measures to disconnect electricity supply for customers with outstanding balances.
HESCOM officials have stated that customers must pay their electricity bills within 30 days of issuance. This applies to households, commercial users, apartments, and temporary connections. Failure to pay within the specified timeframe may result in disconnection during the first 15 days of the following month.
Customers are encouraged to settle their outstanding charges promptly upon receiving their bills. HESCOM will send linemen and meter readers to monitor accounts. Those who do not pay their bills may face disconnection.
A grace period of 15 days is offered for payments without interest, followed by another 15 days for payments with interest. However, if the bill remains unpaid after this period, disconnection will be necessary, especially if the outstanding amount exceeds Rs 100, including any additional security deposits.
Customers who have made online payments but do not see them registered are advised to provide proof of payment or previous bills to resolve any discrepancies.
