BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the Karnataka Congress on Friday for retracting its support for a CBI investigation into the alleged MUDA scam. He accused the party of becoming Bhrashtachar Ke Bhaijaan instead of running a Mohabbat Ki Dukaan. Speaking at a press conference, Poonawalla questioned how Chief Minister Siddaramaiah could remain in office, alleging that Congress governs to benefit its family members through corrupt practices.

He claimed that Congress is a zameen se judi hui party, meaning it is closely tied to land dealings. Poonawalla pointed to instances where Congress members allegedly registered land in relatives’ names across various states. He accused the party of looting public resources and suggested that their withdrawal of consent for a CBI probe was an attempt to evade accountability.

Poonawalla highlighted that Congress leaders had insulted the Karnataka governor and claimed the party was trying to undermine the legal system to protect its members. He criticized their dismissive attitude toward the governor’s judgment and the High Court’s orders, saying this behavior contradicted their claims of promoting love and freedom of the press.

Finally, he asserted that the Karnataka Congress’s recent actions reveal a guilty mindset, viewing their withdrawal of consent for the CBI as a desperate attempt to block an investigation.
