The BJP has demanded a thorough investigation into an incident where an unidentified woman allegedly vandalized the office of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, at Mantralaya in Mumbai. Party officials are urging authorities to explore whether there was any conspiracy behind the act and to identify those involved.

Chitra Wagh, head of the BJP’s women’s wing, expressed concerns about how the woman accessed Mantralaya, highlighting the need for security clarity as many citizens seek assistance from the ministry. She emphasized that the government claims to represent the common people, but questioned the motives of individuals entering the building.

The demand for an inquiry was prompted by a viral video showing the woman entering Mantralaya without an official pass and reportedly damaging the nameplate outside Fadnavis’s office. Eyewitnesses stated that while she was vandalizing the nameplate, several people attempted to intervene, but she ignored them and left the premises. The absence of female police personnel on the sixth floor raised security concerns, as this area is home to key government officials.

The Mumbai Police Commissioner has taken the incident seriously, forming teams to locate the woman, who remains at large. Preliminary reports indicate she entered through the Secretary’s gate, expressing dissatisfaction with unresolved issues while damaging the nameplate and shouting slogans.
