On Tuesday, the BJP unveiled its second list of 21 candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections on October 5, completing its slate of 88 out of 90 seats. Among the new candidates are Capt Yogesh Bairagi, who will challenge Congress’s Vinesh Phogat in Julana, and several others including Krishna Gahlawat in Rai and Bimla Chaudhary in Pataudi. Notably, the party has shifted its candidate for Pehowa from Kanwaljit Singh Ajarana to Jai Bhagwan Sharma.
Earlier, the BJP announced its first list of 67 candidates, featuring Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who has moved from Karnal to contest in Ladwa. Saini, campaigning vigorously, aims to win a third term for the BJP despite facing competition from Congress and AAP, which are highlighting issues such as unemployment and farmer distress.
